Make The First Bath Time a Fun Time For Your Newborn
As you begin your life with your newborn, you gradually get used to a new life and most importantly you start learning many new tricks. You learn how to hold the baby the right way, how to feed the baby and clean the baby and change the diaper. Everything you do for the first time can make you nervous even when you buy newborn baby products for the first time. It would be overwhelming but with a little guidance you can get things right and you will have plenty of advice as well.
However, a couple of tasks would be really tricky though such as giving your baby a bath for the first time. When you are doing it for the first time, you must do it under the guidance of someone like your mother. Always keep in mind that baby does not need bath everyday at this stage, so keep that in mind.
Having said that there are a couple of steps that you need to follow:
- Be prepared by bringing everything together you would need for the process. Such as a good soap free cleanser, towel, wipes and of course only get the best washcloths for babies. Keep everything ready at hand so that everything can be within your reach.
- Make sure that the temperature of the bath water is absolutely right for the little angel, it should not be either too hot or, too cold for the baby, it should be absolutely comfortable.
- During the bath time give your baby's neck and head proper support with your hand and gently massage the baby with cleanser and for the private areas just use water.
- When you place the baby's back in the water be careful about the ears. Gently massage the head with water and take a cotton ball for the face but be gentle around the eye area.
- It is time to dry up and use a baby elephant hooded towel, to wrap your baby.
